Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effect of simulation training on the clinical performance, critical thinking, and satisfaction of nursing students based on Jeffries Simulation Framework based learning of children with bronchiolitis.

Methods: This study was conducted from September to November, 2015 in two stages: scenario development and evaluation of the effects of simulation-based learning using the developed scenarios. Knowledge, clinical performance, and critical thinking were assessed before and after simulation training and were analyzed using paired t-tests.

Results: The average scores on clinical performance before and after the simulation training were 23.75 ¡¾ 4.16 and 30.42 ¡¾ 6.62 respectively (increase of 6.66 ¡¾ 7.57), which was statistically significant (t = 10.60, p <.001), the critical thinking scores before and after the simulation training showed a statistically significant increase by 2.76 ¡¾ 6.18 points (t = 5.382, p <.001), from 99.32 ¡¾ 8.81 to 102.09 ¡¾ 9.71 points.

Conclusion: simulation training had significant effects on the clinical performance and critical thinking of participants. Further, participants who showed an improvement in clinical performance were satisfied with the training.
